End-of-study thesis on the theme of window, from its symbolic origin to its digital transposition.

The window is, intrinsically, an invitation to open up to the world and, by extension, an invitation to open one's gaze: this essential working tool of graphic designers. Hence, it leads us to think of its structure as a real optical device.

However, what about the so-called “digital window” and why did the famous Microsoft Windows operating system choose this name ? How do we see and how are we seen through the screens ? Finally, what does “seeing” mean in the digital age?
